The US Centers for Disease Control are reporting a widening problem with patients suffering fungal meningitis from possibly contaminated doses of a spinal steroid given to patients to treat back pain and inflammation. The patients affected all received injections of the drug at several pain and neurosurgery clinics in several states.
Tennessee Health Commissioner Dr. John Dreyzehner comments.
Is there any information on how many of the people who have gotten sick got KNEE injections (versus back injections). I can’t find this so far.
