Incredibly, the local Milwaukee media either tried and failed, or did not try at all, to find out why the local coroner gave the photos to the widow.

The public records related to this death are a travesty. The so-called death investigation by the local Mequon police didn’t even begin until after the body was cremated, which 6 days after the body was found. A review of the police report shows key witnesses not interviewed, or if they were the results of those interviews were never made part of the public record. The coroner’s initial report had Mays dying of a heart attack even before the autopsy results were released by the ME. Mays’ heart showed no signs of an MI, according to the ME. According to the ME, Mays died of HCM. However, upon review of the autopsy report, neither the HCM Assocation nor Dr. Barry Maron support the finding of HCM.
