A new study just published has shown that 21% of women who receive who are diagnosed with life-threatening cancer go on to get divorced, as opposed to 3% of men who receive a similar diagnosis. The study was conducted by Dr. Marc Chamberlain of the neuro-oncology division at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA).

It goes on to show that men are the weaker sex. At the 1st hint of trouble it’s good riddance. As for women, if their other half is ill, they will do whatever it takes to protect and care for the family.
But I’m lucky as my other half is my Hero during my own illness. When I had to undergo two surgery last year, he was with me all the way. He made do with the sofa bed in the hospital room; took care of me. Post op, he does the laundry with his own bare hands (he does not believe in washing machine), he cooks, he helps me get dressed up when I can’t even reach my own inner wear.
Yes, there were moments of stressed anger when the other half is ill but it takes a lot of patience and willpower and your own conscience to help when help is needed and to not run away and be a coward.
