Surgical construction of urinary ileal conduit. Ureters are spatulated at the open end for 2-3 cm and then sewn side-to-side using absorbable sutures. The patch is then anastomosed using absorbable sutures to the open end of the bowel loop before it is brought up to the abdominal wall. Advantages are the ease of fashioning and wide ureteral anastomoses.
