Tumoral calcinosis; marked by painless accumulation of periarticular calcium hydroxyapatite crystals most typically around shoulder, elbow, hip, and sometimes knee. More common in males and African Americans. Occurs in familial, sporadic, and dialysis-related (most common) settings. Treatment is initially medical with surgery more common initial treatment in sporadic form.
