Presence of pus in middle ear, pain in CN V distribution, paralysis of lateral rectus eye muscle (CN VI), eye pain, diplo-pia, variable pain in temporal or parietal regions on affected side (gasserian ganglion involvement), and CN II-IV paralysis and meningitis; caused by abscess involving petrous bone.
