Cerebellar tonsils extend farther down spinal canal than in type I; narrowed 4th ventricle also extends below foramen magnum. Upper cord has dorsal hump, displacing cervical nerve roots. Condition is associated with stridor, respiratory dysfunction, and cor pulmonale; it occurs in children and with hydrocephalus and myelomeningocele.
