The colonoscopist must be diligent is searching for and recognizing these polyps on endoscopic exam, as they are typically flat and pale in hue. Serrated polyps < 10 mm are removed via polypectomy and those > 10 mm are removed via endoscopic mucosal resection. Colectomy is reserved for specimens that harbor carcinoma.
