Surgical correction of priapism performed under local anesthesia. A 2-cm transverse incision is made on the dorsal surface of the penis just distal to the coronal ridge, distal tip is pulled forward to expose bulging corporal bodies, a 5-mm section (including the septum) is then resected and blood is allowed to drain, and dorsal skin is reapproximated with chromic sutures.
