The United States Supreme Court seems to be taking some interest in the legal upswell to overturn the Feres doctrine that prohibits military members for suing for medical practice complaints for care given in military hospitals.
The latest of a series of challenges to the policy over the years centers around the severe brain injury and subsequent death suffered by Air Force Staff Sgt Dean Patrick Witt, who was injured after a nurse anesthetist place the endotracheal tube in his esophagus instead of the trachea.
