Breast Clinic of Memphis Announces Use of New Breast Radiation Technique

The Breast Clinic of Memphis is now offering accelerated, partial breast irradiation (APBI) for breast cancer patients using a new brachytherapy technique that has been endorsed via a recent consensus statement by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Michael Berry, a breast surgeon on staff at the clinic, argues that the SAVI device used in the treatment will allow decrease the costs, complications, and course of radiation treatment post lumpectomy.
