Buffett fortune amassed over the years by investors Donald and Mildred Othmer has been drained by the hospital that received it as a bequest.<\/p>\n
The couple, who purchased shares of the legendary Berkshire Hathaway, donated $135 million to Long Island College Hospital upon their death. The hospital was to spend only the income from the endowment but over the years raided the fund<\/a> to use for general operating expenses.<\/p>\n Now, the owners of the hospital are trying to close the hospital and nearly all of the money is gone.
