The mechanism of cell death was the activation of caspase 8 which signalled cell death to the mitochondria and then to downstream effector caspases.<\/p>\n<p><b>April 21, 2006 edition of <i>Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry<\/i><\/b>\n<\/div>\n<p>\nResearchers in Singapore modified andrographolide 1, a known isolate from <i>Andrographis paniculata <\/i>to produce several novel compounds. These were screened against different human tumor cell lines and some of the compounds were shown to be have moderate to excellent growth inhibition against breast and colon cancer cells.<\/p>\n<p>Please check back.
