Although most of the things in the body that exist in pairs are mirror images of each other the lungs are not. The right lung, which contains about 55% of the body’s breathing capacity has three lobes – the upper, middle, and lower.<\/p>\n

The left lung by contrast has only two lobes – the upper and lower. There is a small extra part on the bottom of the upper lobe in the left lung called the lingula that probably far back in evolution was once the left middle lobe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
