Zone 1-repair is performed in both adults and children if injury is to profundus tendon; zone 2-in adults, repair is controversial; in children, repair is performed if injury is to profundus tendon, flexor pollicus longus, or flexor digitorum superficialis; zone 5-repair of profundus and superficial tendons is performed; zone 6-repair of only profundus tendon is performed.
