Gradual onset of cerebellar ataxia; usually confined to legs; most commonly seen in men in 4th-7th decade. Etiology includes alcohol abuse, cerebrovascular accident, malignancy, and possible nutritional deficits. Treatment is symptomatic support and alcohol abstinence.
