Culdoplasty (obliteration of cul-de-sac) using concentric purse-string sutures in conjunction with hysterectomy; reinforced over top by reinforced sutures that plicate uterosacral ligaments posterior to vagina. Procedure is performed on both sides of the vagina to avoid risk of entrapment of ureters.
