Umbilicus preservation in abdominal wall reconstruction in Eagle-Barrett syndrome (prune belly syndrome.) Midline skin incision is made from xiphoid to pubis with elliptical incision around umbilicus, and skin flaps are raised laterally superficial to fascia. Incisions are made in peritoneum lateral to epigastic vessels on each side, with fascia brought toward center from each side and secured with running stitch and ending with overlapping reinforced fascial wall. Skin flaps are then trimmed if needed and reapproximated to midline.
