Surgical reconstruction of vagina in congenital absence; 1st described in 1938. Two elliptical incisions are made in the perineum with initial sharp dissection and then finger dissection to create space for placement of a foam rubber mold. Labia are sewn shut over it with 3-4 sutures for 7 days, with removal and placement of a #5 Young rectal dilator into the neovagina for 6 months.
