Scale from 0 to 100 rating cancer patient’s ability to function and carry out activities of daily living:
100 – normal level of functional capacity
90 – normal level of functional capacity with minor signs/symptoms of disease
80 – normal level of functional capacity maintained with some effort, moderate signs/symptoms of disease
70 – can maintain activities of daily living, but unable to do normal outside activity or work
60- can perform most activities of daily living, needs occasional assistance
50- needs assistance to peform most activities, requires frequent medical care
40 – fully disabled, needs routine medical care
30 – hospitalization or hospice imminent
20 – requires hospitalization or hospice, requires active supportive treatment
10 – death is imminent
0 – deceased
