Infestation with Ancylostoma duodenale or Necator americanus; causes itching of feet and between toes and progresses to perineal itching, weakness, headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, tinnitus, cough, and duodenal ulcer symptoms. Infection usu. occurs in barefoot workers in damp soil. Treatment is mebendazole and pyrantel.
