Intermittent hypothalamic discharge occurring every 2 weeks to months. Episodes last 3Ð5 days and are marked by tachycardia, hypertension, depression, nausea, vomiting, and weight fluctuation; also with abdominal striae and obesity but absence of buffalo hump. Treatment is dexamethasone.
