Xeroderma pigmentosum; marked by skin tumors, microcephaly, mental retardation, paralysis, convulsions, speech disorders, photophobia, gonadal hypoplasia, pneumonia, and hepatomegaly. Cause is inability to repair DNA damaged by UV light (280Ð310 nm). Subtypes A-H have variable expression of signs and symptoms.
