Positional vertigo caused by cupulolithiasis of the posterior semicircular canal; marked by periodic unilateral headache, ipsilateral intermittent deafness, vertigo, and tinnitus. Condition is most commonly seen in elderly men; first presents on morning awakening. Diagnosis involves Barany maneuver. Disorder is not corrected by inducing nystagmus.
