Enlargement and engorgement of uterus combined with lacerations in fascial tissue layers of broad, cardinal, and uterosacral ligaments, allowing cervix to move independently in all directions with variable presence of 3rd-degree retroversion. Associated symptoms include pain, dyspareunia, pelvic pain, backache, and headache. Controversy exists regarding diagnosis and prevalence of this clinical syndrome.
