Museum To Highlight African American Civil War Physicians and Nurses

The National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick, Maryland is opening an exhibit this week highlighting African American surgeons and nurses who took care of soliders in the Civil War. Featured is surgeon John DeGrasse of Massachusetts, who was the only black surgeon to serve with a regiment in the field.
