Malignant melanoma is the most common tumor to have metastatic lesions to the gastrointestinal tract. Up to 60% of patients who die of melanoma have develop gastrointestinal mets.
PET scan is the test of choice for detecting metastatic melanoma and these lesions often present with bleeding and obstruction.
