Although usually thought of as a condition presenting in the 5th and 6th decade of life, adrenal carcinoma actually has a bimodal age distribution, wtih the incidence increasing in the first decade and then again between 40 and 50 years of age.
In children it can present with hypertension, pubic hair, and genital enlargement or in girls virilization. The optimal treatment is always surgery.
