Officials at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania are admitting that personal health and demographic information including names, social security numbers, and dates of birth on 21,000 patients was downloaded in unencrypted form to a personal laptop which was then stolen from an employees office. All inpatients between March, 2008 and November, 2008 have likely been compromised.
