ER Visits for Narcotic Overdoses Increase Sharply

A recent study sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) showed an 111% increased in recreational narcotics used overdoses requiring attention in an emergency room. According to Dr. Gil Kerlikowske, Director of the Office Of National Drug Control Policy, the most commonly abused addictive drug in the US is prescription narcotics.
