Medicare to Stop Paying Hospitals if Errors Involved
Next week the officials that administer Medicare are expected to issue new rules that will prohibit payment to hospitals for care required that is the result of certain medical errors. Occurences no longer covered will be falls by a patient, pressure ulcers, and infections caused by prolonged use of bladder and intravenous catheters. The private medical insurance industry is expected to follow these rules with similar rules of their own.
