Famed Eakins’ Painting The Gross Clinic To Remain in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Mayor John Street announced yesterday that sufficient funds have been raised through donations (and a bridge loan if needed from Wachovia Bank) to allow the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Pennsylvania Museum of Fine Arts to purchase the painting by Thomas Eakins from Thomas Jefferson University
