Telithromycin (Ketek) – Part 4
In 2006 the FDA put out a drug warning on the risk of serious and sometimes fatal liver damage occuring in patients who had taken telithromycin. They recommended an immediate stop to taking the drug if jaundice, abdominal pain, fever, dark urine, clay-colored stools, nausea, or loss of appetitie occured.
Other side effects of telithromycin listed by the FDA include but are not limited to diarrhea, irregular heartbeat, fainting, vision problems, muscle cramps, vaginal itching or discharge, headache or dizziness.
