Authorities in Los Angeles are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Esfandiar “Steve” Kadivar. At the time of his murder, Kadivar was unloading hay at his Lancaster, California ranch.
Military Recruitment of Physicians and Dentists Lagging
The United States Army surgeon general is reporting that the number of medical students willing to commit to military service in exchange for an all-expenses paid four years of medical school has dropped by about 40%. Lt. Gen. Kevin C. Kiley said that the Health Professions Scholarship Program is the “lifeblood” of assuring a supply of quality doctors and dentists for the military.
