Tachycardia, tachypnea, frothy sputum and bilateral perihilar infiltrate seen on chest radiograph; occurs in ice skaters exposed to nitrogen oxides in fumes of ice-resurfacing machines. Condition spontaneously resolves in 2 to 3 days.
