Overprominent jaw; stubby, upturned nose; enlarged tongue; stubby fingers and hands; and short, thick torso. Inheritance is X-linked. Condition is considered an ÒovergrowthÓ syndrome with increased risk of neoplasms (e.g., Wilms tumor, neuroblastoma, hepatocellular carcinoma); also associated with cardiac arrhythmias and variable mental retardation. Defect is in gene for extracellular proteoglycan (Xq26).
