Prasad colostomy (end-loop colostomy)
Procedure performed after segmental colectomy using GI anastomosis stapler. Proximal end of the colon is brought through abdominal wall, and antimesen-teric end of distal colonic staple line is then delivered through abdominal incision. Proximal colon is then matured by removing suture line and suturing bowel edges to skin, and distal colon is then matured by removing corner staples and sewing bowel edges to both skin and proximal colon.
