Variant of epidermolysis bullosa with appearance of small, whitish perifollicular lesions; often first seen in lumbosacral area with progression to blistering; results in keloids after healing. Cause is derangement of glycosaminoglycan metabolism. Treatment is skin protection, antibiotics, local steroids, and phenytoin.
