Raised, painless purple-brown lesions occurring on skin, conjunctiva, lung, or in GI tract (including esophagus); may present with lymphadenopathy only. Disorder is found in HIV-infected men (homosexuals but not IV drug users and hemophiliacs); most commonly seen in North America in AIDS (50% incidence). Biopsy entails high risk of hemorrhage.
