Recurrent cough, dyspnea, and hemoptysis; due to focal fibrosiderosis and hemorrhages of lungs. Onset (usu. sudden) occurs in childhood; more prevalent in boys. Chest radiograph shows changing pattern of ill-defined opacities. Condition is considered to be autoimmune derangement and associated with Goodpasture, Wegener, and Churg-Strauss syndromes.
