Technique used to detect Golgi bodies in cells. Tissue is fixed in formalin, rinsed with potassium dichromate, sectioned, rinsed with Sudan black B, rinsed in alcohol, and stained with alum carmine. Golgi bodies stain blue, cytoplasm light gray, chromatin pinkish-red, and Golgi vacuoles clear.
