Dolphins apparently give themselves names and learn and use other dolphins names to call for them when they would like to be close to them again (okay, this is not surgery-related but cool to the nth degree.)
New research shows that dolphins memorize and mimic the distinctive whistles and clicks of other dolphins who are in their social group and call for them when they wish to see them and interact with them.
