The pectoralis minor muscle is a deep muscle on the anterior chest wall that functions to pull the scapula inferiorly and toward the chest wall. It lies immediately deep to the pectoralis major muscle.
The proximal attachment or origin are the 3rd to 5th ribs and the distal attachment or insertion is the coracoid process of the scapula. Innervation is by way of the medial pectoral nerve.
