US Surgeon General Dropped After One Term

Vice Admiral Richard Carmona was unceremoniously dropped as United States Surgeon General one day before the end of his first appointed term. Adminstration officials were noticeably terse in the announcement. Carmona had no public statement.

Boston Surgeon Removes Kidney Instead of Gallbladder

An unnamed surgeon at Milford Regional Hospital mistakenly removed a patient’s kidney instead of the gallbladder as planned. The mistake was not realized for three days.
